The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience at UCCS continues to expand its impact by making resilience training more accessible to diverse communities. The Institute’s GRIT-Care program, part of the Greater Resilience Information Toolkit (GRIT) program, is now available in Spanish, helping reach and support even more individuals and families.

GRIT-Care is a free, research-informed, strength-based, self-guided training program designed to support caregivers by building resilience and helping them support others during times of stress, trauma, or uncertainty. Originally created during the pandemic, the GRIT program was created to equip participants with practical tools to recognize when someone is struggling, engage in supportive conversations, and connect individuals with appropriate resources.

The addition of a Spanish-language GRIT-Care offering marks an important step in ensuring these resources are available to a broader audience. By removing language barriers, the Institute is strengthening its mission to empower communities through connection, shared knowledge, and evidence-based strategies for coping and recovery.

GRIT-Care is one of several specialized tracks within the GRIT program, focusing on helping individuals apply resilience skills in everyday situations. Participants gain a deeper understanding of stress responses, learn how to support others effectively, and build confidence in navigating challenging circumstances, all while fostering stronger, more connected communities.

As the need for accessible mental health and resilience tools continues to grow, initiatives like GRIT-Care in Spanish play a critical role in extending support where it is needed most. The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience’s commitment to inclusivity ensures that more people, regardless of language, can learn how to build resilience, support one another, and create lasting positive change.
