GRIT Program Updates: Expanding Reach and Impact
The GRIT program continues to grow across campus and beyond, expanding its reach across communities, organizations, and populations. At the center of this effort is an ambitious goal: building the first GRIT City—a network of 25,000 GRIT Coaches committed to strengthening resilience, connection, and well-being.
The foundation of resilience is community—through social support, shared experiences, and meaningful connection. The recent GRIT Summit 2026: GRIT City served as a powerful example of this principle in action, bringing people together to learn, reflect, and strengthen their capacity to support one another. The event highlighted the continued growth and reach of the program, with GRIT Coaches now active in all 50 states and across 41 countries, demonstrating the widespread impact of this work.
As this momentum continues, planning is already underway for GRIT Summit 2027: Resilient Edge, where resilience meets performance. This upcoming Summit will explore how individuals and organizations can not only navigate challenges, but also sustain performance, leadership, and resilience over time.
GRIT is also expanding its training pathways to better meet diverse needs. In addition to established tracks like GRIT-CORE, GRIT-LEAD, GRIT-SERVE, and GRIT-4Health, two newer tracks, GRIT-TEEN and GRIT-CARE, offer more targeted support for youth and caregiving populations.
To further increase accessibility, GRIT-CARE is now offered in Spanish, alongside GRIT-4Health, helping extend resilience resources to a broader and more diverse community.
At its core, GRIT emphasizes that resilience is strengthened through connection. By equipping more individuals with practical tools and a shared language, the program continues to build a growing network of support across campus and beyond.
Members of the UCCS community can get involved by completing the free, online, self-paced GRIT training at www.grit.uccs.edu.
Together, we are building something bigger—one connection, one coach, and one community at a time.
