Kevin Summers is a postdoctoral fellow at the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience. He earned his BA in psychology and premedical studies from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and his Ph.D. in Affect, Social, and Cognitive Psychology from the University of Denver. His research integrates psychosocial approaches to better understand inequities in healthcare, with particular attention to pain outcomes.
At the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, Dr. Summers primarily focuses on coordinating the Injury Recovery Improvement Study and conducting program evaluations with Institute partners. He has accepted a position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Utah, beginning in January 2027.
