Biography

Dr. Kristin Kilbourn is a tenured Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Colorado, Denver. She also has a faculty appointment in the Division of Internal Medicine and is an Associate Member of the University of Colorado Cancer Center. She has an active research lab focusing on psychosocial oncology and palliative care with an emphasis on developing and testing psychosocial interventions to improve management of distress and quality of life in those with cancer and their family members. Her current research includes a large RCT examining the impact of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy (PAP) in those with advanced cancer as well as a pilot study of PAP for women with breast and ovarian cancer. In addition to her research and teaching activities, Dr. Kilbourn conducts clinical work with cancer survivors and their family members.
