Trauma Training Opportunity for UCCS Faculty and Staff This Fall 2025

This fall, the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience will offer an advanced online trauma training course designed to deepen understanding of trauma psychology and its applications in professional and academic settings. Through a partnership with UCCS Extended Studies/Academic Outreach, the course will be available at no cost to UCCS faculty and staff.
Course Overview: Trauma Training 2 – Advanced Topics
- Dates: October 27 – December 19, 2025
- Format: 8-week asynchronous online course
- Training Hours: 10
- Cost: Free for UCCS faculty and staff (normally $250)
This course explores advanced topics in trauma, including:
- Stress reactions and symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Biological and developmental impacts of trauma
- Multicultural and diversity considerations
- Crisis intervention strategies
- Evidence-based treatments for both adults and children
While this is the second course in the Trauma Training series, completion of Trauma Training 1 is not required to enroll.
The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience
The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, housed at the Lane Center for Academic Health Science at UCCS, is dedicated to advancing human resilience through interdisciplinary research, education, and community engagement.
