More info

The Healthy Families Bright Futures (HFBF) program sought to develop an online program for LGBTQ+ teens and their parents/caregivers. The program aimed to help teens feel pride and acceptance in their LGBTQ+ identities, and to empower them to make healthy decisions consistent with their values and their goals and dreams for the future. For parents/caregivers, the HFBF program sought to help caregivers in supporting and accepting their LGBTQ+ teens, as well as in providing the necessary support and structure for their teens to become healthy adults.

HFBF included hourly online group sessions held once per week for seven weeks. There were separate sessions for teens and parents/caregivers. The program included discussions, resources, videos, skill-building activities, and other interactive activities.

As part of this program, teens and parents/caregivers completed surveys to help us learn how the program was working, and how we could improve it.
