Director Nicole Weis Discusses Impact of Club Q Tragedy with KOAA and KRDO

Club Q Coverage KRDO

The Club Q attack that occurred on November 19th in Colorado Springs is a repeat of the senseless violence that we’ve seen across the nation so many times before. This is a difficult time for the individuals that were directly impacted, the LGBTQ+ community, and the Colorado Springs community in general. Studies show that tragedies like this can have a significant impact on individuals living in a community where the event happened, even if they weren’t directly affected. In the aftermath of this event, take time to care for yourself, your friends, your family, and your colleagues. Everyone is unique and will process this differently. If you need additional resources, you can find information on the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience website.

Below, you can find links to news stories from KOAA and KRDO, where Nicole Weis, Director of the Institute’s Community Training and Empowerment division, discusses the healing process following a tragedy.
