GRIT 2025: Elevating Education - A Conference Dedicated to Resilience and Growth

The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience is excited to present the second annual GRIT Conference, GRIT 2025: Elevating Education, taking place on March 14, 2025, at the Ent Center for the Arts at UCCS in Colorado Springs, CO. Running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., this one-day event offers an inspiring space for educators, students, GRIT Coaches, and newcomers alike to engage in meaningful discussions on resilience, leadership, and personal development.

 

A Day of Insightful Speakers and Engaging Sessions

GRIT 2025 will feature an exceptional lineup of speakers and interactive sessions designed to educate and empower attendees. The conference will open with welcoming remarks from Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade and UCCS Chancellor Jennifer Sobanet, setting the tone for a day filled with learning and inspiration.

Key highlights include:

  • Hunter Kemper, four-time Olympian, will share his journey of resilience, offering insights from the Becoming Your Personal Best program and the collaboration between the GRIT Program, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, and Team Strong.
  • Meg Fredrick and Jeff Kenefsky, co-founders of the Mindfulness and Positivity Project, will discuss the integration of mindfulness techniques into education and how these approaches are creating positive change in schools.
  • Mike Edmonds, an advocate for inclusive leadership, will share wisdom from his extensive career in education, focusing on mentorship and empowering diverse communities.
  • Elycia Cook, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Colorado, will lead a compelling session on transformative leadership and community impact.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with peers, exchange ideas, and join a community committed to fostering resilience, leadership, and lifelong learning.

Registration and Event Details

Early registration is available for just $25 until February 13, with the standard admission price increasing to $35 thereafter. While lunch is not included, the venue is conveniently located near a variety of dining options at University Village.
