The Institute's GRIT program recently had the honor of being featured on the 5:00 p.m. news after receiving a grant for nearly $400k to expand the GRIT program within the Pikes Peak region. The GRIT program, created after the onset of the pandemic to help individuals and communities cope with the stress encountered after a disaster or other traumatic event, teaches individuals the skills necessary to become more resilient and to spread the resilience mindset throughout their social networks. The grant and expansion of GRIT are covered in more detail in this article that appeared in the UCCS Communique in February 2022.

The more recent news coverage was reported by KOAA News5's Eric Ross and included a story that aired on the evening news on March 2nd, as well as a written article. Both are available at the link below.
