Nicole Weis Promoted to Director of Healing and Community Programs

The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience is proud to announce the well-deserved promotion of Nicole Weis to the position of Director of Healing and Community Programs. Formerly the Director of Community Training and Empowerment, Nicole’s new role marks a significant expansion of her responsibilities and reflects her outstanding contributions to the organization and the broader community.
In her previous position, Nicole led the operations of the Community Training and Empowerment division, where she played a central role in organizing and managing community-focused trainings and initiatives. With her promotion, Nicole will now also oversee the Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic and the Milestones Resilience Care Clinic, both of which are vital pillars of the Institute’s mental health and trauma recovery efforts.
Nicole brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role. A 2016 graduate of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (with an emphasis in trauma), she is both a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor. Her clinical background includes strong proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, community crisis response, and fostering resilience and self-efficacy, skills that have made her an invaluable leader within the Institute.
In addition to overseeing the clinical operations of the two major care clinics, Nicole continues to lead a variety of impactful community training programs. These include Peer Support programs for several organizations across Colorado and UCCS, the Trauma Training program, the GRIT program, and various customized workshops aimed at empowering individuals and communities through trauma-informed care and support.
Nicole’s dedication to healing, education, and empowerment makes her promotion a natural step forward for the Institute. Her leadership is helping to shape a stronger, more resilient community, and we are excited to see the continued impact of her work in this expanded role.
