Biography

Sophie Oliver (Brickman) is a sixth-year clinical psychology graduate student in Dr. Bistricky’s Cognition, Emotion, and Wellbeing Lab. She earned her B.A. from Brandeis University and double majored in Psychology and HSSP: Health, Science, Society, and Policy. Before beginning graduate school, she worked in clinical research at McLean Hospital. She has completed clinical rotations at the UCCS Wellness Center, the Veteran’s Health and Trauma Clinic, the Colorado Springs VA PTSD Clinic, and the Denver VA Family Program all focused on providing evidence-based trauma treatment to civilians and Veteran populations. She most recently completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center.

Research Interests

Her research interests include cognitive, emotional, and meaning-making components of posttrauma adaptation including posttraumatic growth, posttraumatic depreciation, PTSD symptoms, and trauma memories. She is also interested in the role of creative writing in trauma processing and healing.
